Happy Birthday Zachary!

On Tuesday January 13th Zachary turned 2yrs old!! We started the day off by going to the Dr's office for his well check and ear re-check. His ears are all clear and free of infection! YEA! The Dr said Zach is doing just great and to keep up the good work. He now weighs 25lbs and is 33in tall. I think he's really about 33.5 or closer to 34in tall because he was slouching a bit when they measured him...but oh well..He is still rather low in the percentages, but compared to Eric and I at that same age he's right in line with us! So average-haha....

On Saturday the 17th we had a family party for Zach in the afternoon. It was a Thomas the Train themed party. A great time was had by all...Here are some pics for you to enjoy! The cake was made by mommy and Aunt Rachel-and it turned out to be a bit more difficult than we thought. And Grammy did a wonderful job decorating it! It looked so good we didn't want to eat it! Zach was very spoiled and got lots of great presents:)

Denver Vacation

We spent the week of Christmas out in Denver visiting Aunt Amy and Uncle Justin. We also took Grammy and Grampy Ferguson with us. We all had a great time. Here is a little run down of the fun things we did every day we were out there.....Pics to soon follow!

Monday Dec 22nd-Flew from Dayton, OH-Atlanta, Ga-Denver, CO. Zach did great on the plane rides..He was very excited about the take-off and landings-going "whoa whoa" whenever we would rise or fall suddenly. He loved looking out the window and getting to eat lots of yummy snacks. He raced Grammy in her wheelchair from gate to gate and thought that was pretty funny! But his overall favorite thing about the airports were the moving walkways!!! I think he and Eric spent our whole layover in ATL and while waiting in Denver to board just going back and forth and running on them!

Tuesday Dec 23- Mary, Amy and I went to a local hair salon to get Mary's hair all pretty(and pretty she looks now!) Afterwards we ventured over to Target and got groceries along with a few other necessities.....Then it was back home for lunch and naps. Afterwards Amy, Eric, Zachary and I ventured out to the mall and did a little bit of shopping! Both Zachary and Aunt Amy got spoiled with some really nice things!! Then it was back home for a wonderful dinner of Spaghetti, salads and bread-YUMMY!

Wed Dec 24 Xmas Eve- We met Uncle Justin at Casa Vallarta (Mexican) for a fun lunch. Most of Zach's rice ended up on the floor! But he thought his quesadilla was quite yummy! Actually it was a great place to eat and we all really enjoyed our food. After we sent Justin off to work again the rest of us headed to Cherry Creek State Park and played in the snow and a little bit on the playground. Zach wasn't too sure of the snow, and wasn't quite used to his mittens yet so he had a hard time manipulating the snow that Daddy put in his hands. Then we all headed home to get dressed and went to a wonderful Christmas Eve Service at the Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Lots of Christmas Carols and a really nice message with puppets! We really enjoyed ourselves. We came home and had a nice relaxing evening and opened just a few presents.

Thurs Christmas Day- Started out just great with breakfast and the opening of presents! Everyone got great gifts and were very happy campers! For Eric and I the day quickly turned a little bit sour as Zach was really complaining about his ears(He had previously gone to the Dr before we left and had an ear infection that he was on Meds for but had finished just as we arrived) So we milled around a bit more trying to decide what to do and if he could wait another day. We ended up getting the addresses of 2 Urgent Care's that were open and off the 3 of us went. The first one which was closest told us they were closing and that we needed to just go up to the Hospital and to the ER(GRRR) so we did. We got right in and found out that Zach weighs 25lbs!! which was more than i was expecting! and the Dr said she could tell he had an ear infection but that to her it looked like it was healing and so she really didn't want to do anything. So we left a bit frustrated. Zach hadn't been eating very well or sleeping well and just didn't seem like himself, but she is the Dr right?! So we stopped at Walgreen's on the way home to stock up on some tylenol and stuff and then headed home. We had a great rest of the evening, eating food and playing games!

Fri Dec 26th- No sooner than we had woken up did Zach start throwing up! His little bout of the flu was very short lived but our day was basically shot! Eric Zach and I pretty much laid low for the rest of the day. Mary, Jim, Amy and Justin took the dogs out to the park and had some fun. After dinner the girls and Justin took a really nice horse drawn carriage ride through downtown Parker. It was chilly, but so much fun! Had Zach been feeling better i know he would have really loved riding with the horse.

Saturday Dec 27th- Was Aquarium Day! We visited the Denver Aquarium and had a really great time! Zach was feeling much better by now, but still complaining about his ears. So the trip outside did him some good and he really enjoyed seeing all the fishies:) He even got to pet Sting Rays in the Sting Ray petting pool! We then enjoyed appetizers in the Aquarium restaurant.

Sunday Dec 28th- The boys went up to Eldora Ski Resort to do some skiing. They had a great time and no one fell or got hurt!! YEA! The girls and Zach took the dogs out for a walk. We stopped at the little playground that is around the corner from Aunt Amy's house and played there for a bit. Then we were off to take the dogs for a nice long walk. We'll just say that during our walk we probably burned off as many if not more calories than the boys did on their ski trip. I'll just say that the theme of our walk was "You Had To Be There"! We have never laughed so hard! Red Robin provided us with lunch and then we took naps in the afternoon. The rest of the evening was spent gathering our things up and getting ready to head out the following day:(

Monday Dec 29-We flew from Denver, Co-Cincinnati, Oh-Dayton,Oh and then drove the rest of the way home. The plane rides went smoothly, Zach slept for most of the first flight and then spent the rest of it really complaining about his ears.

We know Aunt Amy was a bit disappointed we weren't able to get out and do as many things as we had planned, but i still think we had a great trip! Eric and I enjoyed being away from work for a whole week! I enjoyed being with family and just relaxing, cooking together, playing games and just being plain silly! Zach got spoiled by all the attention and love too- he was sad and almost moping around on Tuesday when he realized he was back home and had to spend the day with just mom-HA! On Tuesday right after we got home i got Zach into the Dr and he had a double ear infection- so no wonder the kid wasn't very happy! He's on medicine now and we still aren't quite sure if its working or not. Otherwise its been back to the grind for us.
