I woke up early Friday morning needing to use the restroom like always sometime around 4am....Noticed that my lower back was just killing me! I had a hard time walking to the bathroom and thought to myself that this was odd! I was able to fall back asleep but around 530am I was woken up by a ctx...continued to doze in between them until Eric's alarm went off at 630am for work. By this time they were about every 10-12minutes or so. So we got some stuff around..I continued to lay in bed and then get up and walk around. I was able to handle the ctx's so much better by walking around and standing up! They hurt so much more when i would try and sit down. By about 8am I noticed that the ctx's were getting pretty painful and i was having to use some lamaze type breathing to get through them. I was using that contraction master website to keep track of things as i wasn't going to attempt to keep track of them on my own or have Eric do it....I think it was around 930am that i decided maybe Zach needed to go to his grandparents(Ferguson's) and i should put a call into my Dr's office. Dr's office said to just to ahead and go on over to the hosp. By this time my ctx's were basically 4-7minutes apart. We got to the hospital a little before 11am. Got checked in and the nurse said-before i finish the paper work i am just gonna go ahead and check you....Yeah i was freaking 8cms already!!!!! She was so shocked-and i was so proud!!! That was exactly what i wanted to happen!! My midwife Deb came in and said she was going to go eat her lunch, but would be back up to see how i was doing after she was finished. A little while later i felt pressure in my butt and sure enough i was complete and ready to go!! Since i timed my being ready to push just right both of the midwives i had seen(Deb who was on call and Bonnie who was just on her lunch) were able to give me support and help me out! I was so happy to have both of them there. Eric and I both commented on how different my labor seemed because we were both awake and not super tired. Zach was born at 1:14 am-we were both exhausted by the time he was born. Pushing Kelsey out was so much harder than Zach, but i know it was due to her being so much longer and heavier than her brother was. But i sweated through and did it like a champ! haha...I'm pretty sure it took about 4ctx or about 10 minutes of pushing and out she came! I did it with no drugs at all again-so proud of myself!! (sorry to brag!) Miss Kelsey has been great ever since...
Here are a few pictures to enjoy!
